Here it is...... 2018

I guess the old saying

Time goes fast when you get older

is no lie.

I swear it seems like it was just the beginning of 2017 a few weeks ago.

And I did not get one goal accomplished that I had set for myself.

As you can see procrastinate was my word for that year.

Actually work got in the way of a lot of things and now looking back,

that will NOT happen this year.

This year I chose a much different word.

Its probably not what you think...

To me the meaning of unicorn is that one thing that is elusive, but

if you wait or look hard enough you will find.

I know its like a bucket list, but on a much higher level.

Like last month i was able to achieve one of my unicorns.

We went to the Foo Fighters concert!

Yes it was amazing!

So this year, I am looking for my unicorns.

I only have a few goals for 2018.

1. To read all the books by Tarryn Fisher.

I chose her because after reading Bad Mommy & The Never-Never trilogy she wrote

with Colleen Hoover, I was hooked.

Colleen, you are next!

2. I am going to learn how to wire wrap & crochet.

For the most part, I know only two stitches in crocheting and I want to broaden my knowledge.

As for wire wrapping, since I love playing with sea glass, it just seems like the next step.

3. I am going to continue to walk every day.

I am currently passed my goal of 100 lbs lost.

And just have about 40 more to go.

And that is it...

Jelly fish Pinning with Purpose

Every week Hope from

Crafty Hope

picks out a few pins from her pinterest board and tries to

recreate them or use them for inspiration.

She challenges her readers to do the same.

It can be anything from a recipe to a craft idea or even a home decor.

So since I don't play around in pinterest that much,

I decided that I am going to try the challenge.

Let me tell you,

I thought beads distracted me.

Pinterest is addictive & I almost did not get out.

But I did find one pin that peaked my interest, so I tried it out.

Here is what I came up with...

A wire wrapped Jelly fish.

The original had just the beaded antennas.

(well, that is what I call them. HA!)

I really like how it came out.

I do need to practice my wrapping skills more,

so I figured this would be a perfect way to do so.

I think this is something I am going to be doing more often.

It's been some time since my last post. I had to take some time to find myself. I had so many things I wanted to jump in and do, but never had the time. Graphic design was my passion for so many years, but then I found beading and everything changed. And you know what they say, Change is good. lol

I had set a date for the first of the year to reinvent my blog and my priorities, because I want beading to take a major step up in my life. But then with illnesses and other things I moved it back to the 19th. Which was fine because I wanted things to go smoothly. Then on Jan. 18th, my furbaby Tara was hit by a car and we had to put her down. For a few days I was devistated. She was a part of our family for 11 yrs. Then I looked at her photo, and knew I had to pick things back up and get to work.

So I am back =)

First order of business is to start fine tuning my wire wrapping skills.

The Link Challenge..... The Reveal

It is finally here.... Reveal day.

I have been ready for weeks && am glad I finally get to show what I came

up with.

To get everyone up to date on what we were to do,

Peggy from The Charm Barn

sent us 20 links.

Some of us got black and some a tortoise color.

I got black.

Here is what I came up with

I first wanted to come up with some type of pendant. So I wire wrap a piece of sea glass and then used one of the links to be used to attach to either some ribbon or whatever you would chose.

After I made this.

I wanted to make a bracelet but not have it connect like the links were meant to.So I grabbed some black wire and decided to add the green beads & this is what I came up with. I made a clasp outta the links and with some wrapped wire.
