I can not even believe it is the end of June already..... It's been one crazy and busy month. I wanted to join in on June's Art Elements theme challenge. Susan picked this months theme of Sunflowers. One of my favorite flowers. I just love the brightness of the colors.
One thing that is pretty cool in my area is a Sunflower Maze. If you are ever in the Fresno area, you will be A-Mazed!!! The Sunflower Maze in Centerville is so much fun and it’s Free! Location: 16155 E. Kings Canyon., Sanger.
Parking is at the Centerville Fruit Stand.
I really wanted to get more done than just this... But, this month just flew right by. Literally. Here is a pair of earrings I made for the challenge.
I took some cultured sea glass, patina'd washers and wire wrapped them with some sea glass I had found in Monterey, California at the beginning of the year. I did texture the washers and then applied the patina. I like how these came out. I just have not added the ear wires yet. But I did finish them..
I also started this pair but as you can see, I did not get very far in putting them together.. lol This is my first attempt at using the tin from a soda pop can, adding some patina and then adding the yellow beads to them.
Thanks for stopping by and here is a list of the other participants. Make sure to stop by and check out their beautiful creations.

The sunflower maze just looks so amazing! It must be wonderful to see it in real life! Your earring pair is lovely and I especially like how you treated the textured surface of the washer! Time can really fly fast and it is somehow surreal that this year is already halfway through!
ReplyDeleteI know I remember my mom saying how time goes faster when you get older.. I just never realized how fast she meant. lol Thanks Claire.
DeleteLovely earrings! You had me at wire wrapping and sea glass. LOL Very cool about the sunflower maze too...who wouldn't wander through sunflowers over corn, right??
ReplyDeleteIts so beautiful inside the maze. Thank you Raven.
DeleteSomehow I couldn't see the picture of the sunflower maze, but I googled and that's so pretty.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful earrings!
Oh no Cat. It really is beautiful in person. Thank you.
DeleteThe sunflower maze is amazingly beautiful! I love the textural elements in your earrings! And the patina on the tin can looks really intriguing.
ReplyDeleteYa the patina was the only thing I had available and it seems to be holding up. I will blog about the final results on that pair.
DeleteA sunflower maze would be so cool! Thanks for sharing! June sure did fly by - thanks for playing along! Like the tin can idea!
ReplyDeleteThank you Sue!
DeleteI would love a sunflower maze!! Sounds much better than a corn maze. Your earrings are lovely. I really like the sea glass ones.
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing the sunflower maze. That is spectacular. Your earrings and components are great.
ReplyDeleteI love the idea of a sunflower maze, I once did the maze at Hampton Court Palace and found my way in and out without ever finding the middle! Your earrings look charming
ReplyDeleteSo funky!
ReplyDeleteCan't wait to see the other pair.
The maze looks amazing :) Love your components, great recycling too
ReplyDeleteI never would have thought of adding sea glass to a sunflower challenge - but that's what so great about these challenges. Everyone brings their unique vision to the theme. Great designs.
ReplyDeleteThe months and days fly by quicker when we have a Challenge Deadline don't they? Your earrings are a short and sweet statement!

Oh my I would love to visit that maze! When I was little we lived in Holland and I remember moving into the house and my mother being so upset because the garden was beautiful but inaccessible to all but small children because the grass area was completely surround by sunflowers! Your ear rings just embody those sunflowers in my memory.
ReplyDeleteA sunflower maze sounds super cool! Really like what you did with the washers in your earrings. Nice work!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful earrings. I find a lot of sea glass here on the east coast on the Jersey shore. I haven't made jewelry yet, but have combined driftwood and sea glass for mobiles and wind chimes.
