Challenge of Travel Blog Hop

The Island of Samoa

When I think of Samoa, I automatically think of WWE wrestling.. LOL
Seriously.. Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson, Samoa Joe, Umaga
But after reading  a bit, I found that the people are very giving people and love to
use a lot of coral, abalone, tortoise shell and mother of pearl when making just about anything.
Here is what I came up with.

(My photos do not do them justice.. Something I need to work on)

  1. NIce earrings~ I had to laugh at your image of Samoa, it always makes me think of the Girl Scout cookie :-) One suggestion is to take your pics against a neutral white or khaki background. It helps keep the focus on your beautiful work.

    1. LOL which kind of girl scout cookies?? I have always liked the peanut butter ones. lol Thanks for the suggestions on the photos.. Being new, it is sometimes frustrating.

  2. Wow, those are some lush greens as inspiration, I love that you used the natural elements to highlight them

  3. I love your earrings. I've always loved abalone and I love the little coil of wire underneath.

    1. Thanks.. Ya I wanted to do something different at the bottom.

  4. Abalone does capture the essence of the island, nice work.

  5. Mischelle, I'm glad you didn't have to "wrestle" with your design LOL. Seriously, the abalone and bright green beads are so perfect to celebrate this beautiful land. I, too, struggle with taking good photos. I look at a lot of blogs for photo ideas, and try to imitate the more experienced designers. Don't forget some of them have efficient set-ups for photography, not to mention lots of practice put in, with hundreds of photos under their belts. Everything improves with time!

    1. Thank you soo much for your help with the photographing. I was just hoping there was an "easy" way other than practice.. lol

  6. Your earrings are stunning. Just can't picture them on "The Rock" no matter how crazy he gets. Great job!

    1. LOL Idk... I don't think green is the Rocks color.. lol thanks Marlene

  7. I love your earrings, the abalone shell is delicious and I love the flash of green above it!

  8. Pretty earrings I've found both handmade paper and weathered wood to wrok well for jewellery backdrops!

    1. Thank you so much for your help with the photos. I will give it a try.

  9. I agree with the comment from Tammie-Samoa reminds me of Girl Scout Cookies!! Love the abalone shell - perfect for those earrings!

    1. Okay now I need to find someone who sells the girl scout cookies.. lol thanks Patti.

  10. Love your earrings! The yummy green and abalone look like The Island of Samoa, with beautiful horizons and lush greenery. Thanks for traveling and creating!

Your journey gives me a sense of beauty and community, with rainbow jewels and friendship that make my heart happy ;)

    1. Thanks Rita. I had alot of fun creating these.

  11. Gorgeous earrings! Love the detail of the wirework at the bottom!

    1. Thanks Holly. I love wire wrapping. I think I am going to do it a lot more. :)

  12. I really like your wirework details; adds an artistic element to your design! Colors represent the land beautifully!

  13. I like the little wire squiggles that give these a playful movement. The colors of those shell beads are beautiful. I am happy that you participated with me in this challenge. Thank you for touring the world with me! Enjoy the day! Erin

  14. I am still new to blog hopping but I think after this one.. I learned alot more. Thank you soo much for allowing me to tour with you.
