Review: Waterfall Effect

Waterfall Effect Waterfall Effect by K.K. Allen
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This is my first read from K.K. Allen. When I received the ARC, I was excited because I have been wanting to read her books for a while now. Why did I wait so long? Waterfall Effect had me saying Whoa like a few times. I mean how many books do you read that you get goosebumps from the prologue?? This is not only a story about true love. I think the saying, if you love someone set them free, if they love you they will come back fits it to a T. I instantly fell in love with all of the characters. Aurora is such a strong woman and I don't think she was able to realize it until she came back to Balsam Grove. I could feel the connection with her and Jaxon from the beginning. What an amazing love story that continued even while they were apart, while neither of them realized it. I love K.K's writing style. I connected with the characters and could feel what they were feeling. While this story did have its twists and turns. I was shocked. Definitely one of the best reads of this year. Grab your copy when it comes out Feb. 28...

Brighter Than The Sun Cover Reveal

It's here!!

Title: Brighter Than The Sun
Author: Briana Pacheco
Genre: Contemporary Romance
Cover Design: By Hang Le
Release Date: March 16, 2018

BLURB

I loved love. Some might even say I was obsessed with it. I was the girl who had a fake wedding when I was six and subscribed to bridal magazines by sixteen. My happily ever was all I thought about.

So the fact that I had a crush on my brother’s best friend--a guy who notoriously doesn’t do relationships--was heartbreak in the making. I was forced to do the only thing I could--ignore my feelings and move on.

Years later, after countless failed relationships, my shy heart had slowly stepped away from its fanciful ideas of love. It was going smoothly until the guy who didn’t do relationships suddenly wanted to try having one…with me. It didn’t take long before I gave in. He was exactly how I imagined, and everything I'd dreamed about: goofy, smart, good with animals, and kind.

Still, my past break-ups were never far from my mind. I'd always crushed hard and fell fast, and no one ever caught me. But the more time we spent together, the more I started to see a future with him. And what’s shocking was that he saw the same thing as me.

He’s my forever.

I’m his.

This is our love story.

There are no pre-order links at this time but Brighter Than the Sun will be 99c for release day only and WILL be in Kindle Unlimited.

Brighter Than the Sun is a contemporary romance featuring characters from A Sky Full of Secrets, but it can be read as a standalone.

Review: Forever & Always

Forever & Always Forever & Always by Jasinda Wilder
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Forever & Always (The Ever Trilogy #1)
Book 1 in trilogy.

I really don't even know where to begin... What a freaking roller coaster. I think I felt every kind of emotion and then some. This story begins at a summer camp and ends in a wft moment. How can you just leave me hanging like this and end a story so abruptly. Ugh!
Caden and Ever's love story is one that kind of nauseating. I am all for true love and I felt their connection, but there were a few moments I was like please stop. Tragedy after tragedy after tragedy is what brought these two together. Let's see how this love story is going to end.

Review: The Iron Tiara

The Iron Tiara The Iron Tiara by Beth Flynn
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Is there anything that Beth Flynn writes that is mediocre? Not in my opinion. She is amazing and it shows here in the spin off of the Nine Minutes Trilogy. I did not think I could fall in love with another biker after meeting Grizz, but I was sadly mistaken. Anthony grabbed my heart from the moment he laid eyes on Christy. And watching their story unfold was more than I expected. Beth writes in a way that grabs your attention and never lets go.

Bad Mommy Review

When Fig Coxbury buys a house on West Barrett Street,
it's not because she likes the neighborhood,
or even because she likes the house.
It's because everything she desires is next door:
The husband, the child, and the life that belongs to someone else.

Now let me tell you...
Every once in a while you come across a book that makes you think
WTF?
This is definitely one of those.
At first I thought there was something wrong with me for loving Fig
as much as I did.
And maybe there is.
I loved all the characters in the story.
Darius really threw me for a loop and
I was hoping Ryan could have scored.

I am very new to Tarryn's work and love her style of writing.
I really don't want to use the word creepy, but
dayum.
I think what set this book apart from any other books I have read is the fact
that as I am reading the last line of the story,
I got a huge case of the goosebumps.
Which has never happened......EVER.

I give this book 5 sea glass pieces.
Check it out.

Have a great night!

My Good Reads goal is to read 50 books this year.
One a week could be doable for me.
Remember I am a slow reader.

I also wanted to do something with a little more of a challenge.
I googled Top Books of All Time.
I ended up with

Here it is:
1. Anna Karenina by Leo Tolstoy
2. Madame Bovary by Gustave Flaubert
3. War and Peace by Leo Tolstoy
4. Lolita by Vladimir Nabokov ...

6. Hamlet by William Shakespeare
7. The Great Gatsby F. Scott Fitzgerald
8. In Search of Lost Time by Marcel Proust
9. The Stories of Anton Chekhov by Anton Chekhov

Book synopsis:
***GRAPHIC CONTENT AND TRIGGER WARNING FOR SEXUAL ABUSE!***
This book contains sensitive subject matter that may trigger unwanted memories. This book contains graphic content and should be read by adults 17 years of age and older.

There was a time in my life when I was someone else.

She died.

As an investigator, I showed no emotion as I found dirt on men for the women that just so happened to fall victim to loving them. I enjoyed the feeling I got when I screwed men over; their discomfort brought me joy. Trust me, I wasn’t always deranged. I used to be young and naive to the evils of the world, but someone snatched that away from me, turning me into a heartless monster.

When I’m assigned another case, my new mark awakes things that I’ve spent my whole life trying to bury.
Emotions.
Fears.
My past.
A man originally intended to be my mark triggers things inside of me that I thought I lost long ago. For him, I was going to face my past, but there was only one thing standing in my way. Will he be the key to my salvation or am I doomed to let my past continue holding me hostage?

Author Bio:  Stina Rubio's love of books runs deep. After being an avid reader for longer than she can remember, she turned her love of books into more and became a cover artists and a writer. As a mother of three boys and two pups, she tries not to melt in the California heat while wrestling with her muse and penning her tales.

Have a great day!
