Thursday's Thought

Life is not easy.
We gotta give that notion up.
Take a deep breath.
And leap.
We can relax within the chaos,
by making friends with space—not having to “do” all the time.
Not having to rush, rush, rush—and then veg out, to balance.
Find a middle path: do what you love.

Have a blessed day!!

Oh To My Surprise.......

What a day it has been.
I have a few bags of mismatched earrings and jewelry from
thrift shopping that I haven't gone through just yet.
I had forgotten that I had thrown in some items that were just lying around.
One of the items, was the very first piece of jewelry that I ever made for a blog hop.

I couldn't stop laughing because of the way I had joined the links and beads
together.
Seriously with wire wrapped around the back of the link.
The only thing I did get right with that piece was that the
wire went through the bead hole.
Here it is....

Anyhow, I just wanted to share my first piece with y'all.
Have a great week!!

Sea Shell, Sea Shell, By The Sea Shore

From as long as I can remember I have always found beauty in
sea shells and sea glass.
On my last trip to Monterey, Ca.
I found quite a few shells, whole and broken.

The broken shells are my favs because
I love to take broken items and
make them beautiful again.

I took some driftwood I had saved from another trip,
sea glass and the shells I found to make a wind chime.

At first I was just going to leave it like this...

But these two shells were calling to me.

I knew I had to use them!

I am so glad I did.
I love how it came out.
I hope you do too.

Hope you all have a wonderful week.

Beaded Earrings

I love reading other blogs because not only do I learn
from them, but I get to try them out as well.
Today I was reading Crafty Hope's blog post on
making a wire frame and beaded earrings from those frames.

I have tried several times to make these earrings before
and failed miserably lol
I was not sure about trying another time, but Hope made it look so
easy, I just had to try.
And I am glad I did.
I learned some techniques on not only the frames, but wrapping the beads as well.

Here are the colors I chose.

And here is how they turned out.....

I still have some work to do on keeping the frame unbent lol
but for my first completed try,
I'll take it..

Thanks Hope for  your post.
Everyone go check out here blog at

Have a great weekend and don't forget....
turn those clocks ahead.

What's On My Worktable Wednesday

I am a huge Arizona drinker.
Not only so I love the drink, but the cans too.
So I decided to make a pair of earrings out of one of my
favorite cans.  Yes I have a fav lol.

It has some really cool blossoms and Japanese lettering.
And a ying yang symbol.
So I began to cut the can apart and saved pretty much all of it for other
projects.

Here is what I made so far.

Also,
last night I had hammered some copper and darkened it up some.
I was starting to get tired so I left them for today.
Here is how those came out.

Have a great week!

Wood Burning or Burning Wood

Lately I have been revisiting some crafting
skills that I was introduced to me
when I was in 4-H.
Leather burning, crocheting, knitting and wood burning.

I thought I would share my recent wood burning.
I just played around because it has been
so long.
I tried just my name on the first piece.

I had another piece of driftwood I had picked up from
Santa Cruz and it had some
burning on it already.

The last piece I made for a friend.
She loved it.

I definitely need more practice but I had fun bringing this back.

Have you tried a new craft any time recently?

Have a great week!

2 Months In........

I can not believe that it has been 2 months since my last post.
But I have been taking some me time
to reintroduce myself to my creativity
that took a hike somewhere.

I have gone to Monterey, California
a few times and each time I come back, I feel
such a surge of creativity.  I am thinking another trip is in order soon.

I will be photographing some of the pieces I have made
here a the next couple of days.  I
don't want to bombard y'all with posts. lol

Have a great weekend!!

Beanie Weather!

2018 was a year that brought me great sadness, joy
and a new thirst for learning more crafts.
I decided that 2019 is the year of Creative Flow for me.
I have a few crafts I want to learn and crocheting is one of those.
To be more specific, beanies and socks.
I have always been able to make scarves, but only had knowledge of two stitches. lol

Yarns purchased at Walmart for now.

I have purchased some yarn from Walmart until I start to master the beanie and sock process.
Then I have a few online venders I will be buying hand dyed yarns from.

My first attempt at a beanie.

After a few hours on youtube, I finally found a great how to video for a slouchy beanie.

Larger!

Once I get the beanie finished, (hopefully after the holidays)
I will post the finished product.

Have a wonderful week.

My Leftovers Went to My Ears....

I know I am a little late getting this out.  I so tried to do this last night but the holidays are really kicking me. LOL
Erin, from Earrings Everyday sends out a monthly  We're All Ears Challenge. This month, the challenge was to Use Your Leftovers from a craftermath.
Now mind you I just had cleaned my crafting area when the challenge was issued,
so I just threw together some things that were in a bowl I have of  leftovers.
This is what I came up with.

Here is what I came up with...…

I have the mesh beads forever.
So I decided to grab some chain, wire wrap the briolettes and add the starfish charms.

I have always wanted to use these but just didn't know what to do.
So I just added some black recycled glass beads with black wired to create these cuties.

On my trip to Monterey, I found these two pieces of sea glass.
I don't work with yellows and browns much, so I knew I was going to whip these up.
I just drilled some holes in the sea glass and added the recycled glass beads.
 That was pretty much it.

The next pair I created I think may be my favorites.
I paired the seashell patina'd charms with some chain I had to create these.
I really get a beachy feeling with these.

I am starting to use driftwood in my pieces..
I wire wrapped some sea glass I found at Santa Cruz, Ca to some driftwood pieces found at the same location.  Santa Cruz is definitely my favorite place t collect driftwood.

I call these my Jasmine earrings lol
I used some silk ribbon I had and wrapped some wire and beads to it.
I added the drops to add some length to them.

I started to photograph the next pair of earrings, but my handsome Luke had other plans.
Actually, he always has other plans for me when I am trying to create and photograph. lol

For the next pair, I used some recycled glass, briolette's in white and added some recycled glass beads to the ear wires.

My final pair I used some cultured sea glass beads and the infinity charms.
I am not really happy with these and just may repurpose them lol.

And that is it..... 8 pairs of leftover earrings.  Go check out what Erin and the other participants created here.
